Error: Failed to save or “This command is unavailable because the license to use this application has expired.” when creating a report

This error can occur when trying to save a SiteFusion ‘Report’ to a OneDrive location when the document has ‘AutoSave’ set, and OneDrive set to Use Office applications to sync Office files that I open.
To get the files to save with no issues:

  • Setting “Always keep on this device” in File Explorer may resolve this.
  • Uncheck “Use Office applications to sync Office files that I open.”
  • Open the file in its saved location and set Autosave off and save again.

This error might also occur when Excel is running in the background. To resolve this, open ‘Task Manager’ by clicking CTRL+ALT+DEL. Click on the ‘Processes’ tab and scroll to find an instance of ‘Excel’ running. If found, right-click and ‘End Task’.
