Search

To “exclude” a word from your search results, simply put a minus sign (“-“) directly in front of the word you want to omit, without any spaces; this tells the search engine to show results that do not contain that specific term.

Example:

  • “apple”: would return results about both the fruit and the tech company Apple.
  • “apple -fruit”: would only return results about the tech company Apple, excluding information about the fruit.

Key points about excluding words in a search:

Refining results: Excluding words is a great way to narrow down your search results and get more precise information.

Minus sign usage: Always use a minus sign (“-“) to exclude a word.

No spaces: Do not put any spaces between the minus sign and the word you want to exclude.
